Long Island Youth Indoor Football is proud to announce its largest season yet.

Long Island, you have the first and largest full contact indoor football league in the United States right in your own back yard as Long Island Youth Indoor Football has expanded its venues to include facilities in Oceanside, New York, Hauppauge, New York and Calverton,  New York.  There is not an area of Long Island that will not be covered and we anticipate limiting registration to 78 teams from Brooklyn to South Hampton.  Log onto our website at www.LIYIF.com for registration deadlines and information as well as the rules and regulations, which would include age and weight restrictions.  The new format will include a New York/Nassau Championship as well as a Suffolk County Championship, some crossover games during the season and ultimately an overall championship between the two venues.  In the eight team divisions, the top four finishers will be segregated into A bracket playoffs and the bottom four will be segregated into B playoffs and trophies will be awarded to the first and second place finishers for all age groups in both the A bracket and the B bracket. 

The most exciting development with respect to the upcoming football season is the addition of the National Championship trophy which we tried to work in last season but were unable to.  We are spearheading a National Tournament, which we anticipate including Washington, Texas, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Connecticut.  We remain in the process of coordinating this Tournament by tailoring ages/weights and rules so that they are uniform for all organizations.  Although the media generally covers the Long Island Youth Indoor playoffs, we have significant media commitment for the National competition and information concerning same will be provided in the upcoming months.

Most of the teams that participate do not practice and accordingly is a minimal commitment for the players, coaches, and families.  It is literally a one-hour a week commitment that the children look forward to from the minute they wake up in the morning.  Almost all games are played week nights so there are no conflicts with Lacrosse or other sports.

It is important that teams lock in their spots for the upcoming 2008/2009 indoor season before being waitlisted in their corresponding age brackets.  The mandatory team deposit is $500.00, which is being accepted to ensure your teams participation in the upcoming season.

The schedule for the 2008/2009 Season begins the week of December 1, 2008.  Each team is guaranteed no less than 10 games and all first and second place finishers will additionally have the Intercounty Championships on the 11th week.  The total cost for the league, per team is $2,850.00 due in full by 11/14/08.  The deposits are due immediately to guarantee a spot.  The cost will run anywhere from $140.00 - $180.00 per child depending upon roster size.  The cost includes having an emergency medical technician, two referees, insurance on all participants, and a league official present at every game as well as trophies for 1st & 2nd place in every division for both A&B brackets.
